Mohammad Maqbool is a Chartered Accountant from England & Wales, Canada and Pakistan. He is also fellow member of Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountancy (CIPFA) UK. He has extensive accountancy practice experience as a senior partner in various Chartered Accountants firms.

He is serving as Council Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) for term 2022-26, Chairman Education & Training Committee, Chairman Audit Committee of ICAP and Chairman Accounting Standard Board of Pakistan. He had been the President of Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants (PIPFA) in 1995 and 2015.

He served as a co-opted council member of Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants (CIPFA) UK for terms 2016-21 and he has also been co-opted as a council member by Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW) from South Asia for term 2023-25. He is also Technical Advisor to IFAC Board and Chairman of Public Relation Committee of SAFA. He is Dean of School of Accountancy of the University of Lahore since July, 2002. He is also a non-executive director of Bata Pakistan Limited.

Dr. Anis began his career at Price Waterhouse Coopers in Pakistan and later served at KPMG UAE.

An MBA and PhD in Management Accounting from the USA, he is affiliated with numerous global professional bodies, including the Montana Society of CPAs, the American Management Association, and the UAE Accountants and Auditors Association.

Dr. Anis is the Founding President and current Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Business Professional Council (PBPC) Abu Dhabi. He has championed investment links between UAE and Pakistan’s financial markets, orchestrating key MOUs and capital market events.

Deeply committed to corporate and social responsibility, he serves as a trustee of the Indus Hospital in Karachi and was instrumental in the success of the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Arab Pakistan School in Abu Dhabi. His efforts in strengthening economic and professional ties between Pakistan and the UAE earned him national recognition, including an award from the President of Pakistan.
